Mary Morgan may be the same b. 5JAN1845 in Queens Ward, Fredericton, York Co., NB in the 1901 census. A widow, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, William (1MAY1862) and Nellie (9APR1872) Tolan. Birth records give them as William Havelock and Ellen (‘Nellie’) M. (Morgan) Toland of Morrison’s Mills. Ellen (Morgan) Toland is, therefore, presumably the sister, Ellen b. ca. 1872), of Mary Ann Morgan, whose children were b. the same place. William and Ellen were m. 4NOV1891. Since the surname, Hamm, I associate most often with Kings Co., NB; I note that in the 1851 census of Greenwich Parish, Kings Co., NB there was a John Morgan b. ca. 1842. His mother, Frances Morgan (ca. 1813) was a widow, and siblings were: Nancy (ca. 1836), Elizabeth (ca. 1838) and Henry (ca. 1840.) Another Morgan family in Studholm Parish, Kings Co., in 1851, was that of William Morgan (b. Ireland ca. 1798, arrived 1847), with a wife, ‘Sairah’ (b. Ireland ca. 1793), and children: ‘Owne’ (son, Owen?, ca. 1833), Patrick (ca. 1837) and John (ca. 1840.) A John Morgan petitioned for land in Kings Co. in 1853; a William Morgan in 1858 and 1860. William Morgan, Jr. was granted 90 acres 15APR1856 in Studholm Parish; and he is likely the William granted 100 acres in the same parish 24DEC1856. Patrick Morgan was granted 54 acres 8MAY1858 in Studholm Parish. Owen 100 acres in Studholm Parish 17OCT1859. Patrick is still in Studholm Parish in 1881 with his family. Also John (b. ca. 1839) is in Studholm Parish with his family in 1881. A brother appears to have been William Morgan (b. Ireland ca. 1831), in Studholm Parish in 1881, but apparently elsewhere in 1851. While the Studholm Parish family appears to have remained in Kings Co.; that of the widow, Frances Morgan, does not appear in that County in 1881. A Henry Morgan (b. ca. 1840, described as German?) was in New Maryland, York Co., NB in 1881, with a family. He was there as early as 1867. This may be the Henry Morgan b. ca. 1839, d. Sunbury Co., NB 3MAR1914 age 75 years. Also likely he was the Henry Morgan b. Nasonworth, York Co., NB ca. 1844, d. Nasonworth, York Co., NB 3MAR1914 age 70 years. Some contradictions, but the same date-of-death suggests the same person. His headstone, in the Morgan Nasonworth Cem., York Co., NB, gives him as b. 8OCT1839, d. 3MAR1914. There is a rather large Morgan family in the area, and Henry seems to be the progenitor of this family. If, however, he was the s/o the widow, Frances, in 1851 in Kings Co., then his brother, John, is likely the John Morgan b. ca. 1842, d. 2JUL1867 age 25 years, and buried in the same cemetery as Henry. children: 1. JOHN MORGAN b. ca. 1861 2. MARGARET MORGAN b. ca. 1863 3. ELIZA MORGAN b. ca. 1865. Possibly the Elizabeth (El;iza) Morgan b. Tracy Station, Sunbury Co., NB ca. 1863, d. Tracy Station, Sunbury Co., NB 21MAY1899 age 36 years. 4. HARRY MORGAN b. ca. 1869 5. ELLEN M. MORGAN b. 9APR1872, m. York Co., NB 4NOV1891 WILLIAM HAVELOCK TOLAND (b. 1MAY1862, d. Victoria Co., NB 7MAR1924.) Nellie and William, by 1909, lived in Plaster Rock, Victoria Co., NB. 6. MARY ANN (“ANNIE”) MORGAN b. 12JAN1875 (1874 on headstone, JAN1876 in 1911), d. 1956, bur. Forest Hill Cem., Fredericton, York Co., NB, m. York Co., NB 5OCT1893 HARRY SEYMOUR CLARK (b. 5JAN1867 (5JAN1868 in 1901, but 1867 on headstone and JAN1867 in 1911), d. York Co., NB 15APR1953, bur. Forest Hill Cem., Fredericton, York Co., NB.) Living in Kings Ward, Fredericton, York Co., NB in 1901. Living in Fredericton in 1911. Harry may be Harry Clarke b. ca. 1867, s/o the widow, Mary Clark (b. ca. 1835), in Sheffield Parish, Sunbury Co., NB in 1881. A. D. Clarke was carpenter in Lakeville Corner, Sheffield Parish, Sunbury Co., NB in the 1871 directory. Albert D. Clark m. Mary Ann Chase, and had a son, James Franklin Clark, b. Lakeville Corner, Sunbury Co., NB 13SEP1873. Harry’s brother, in 1881, was James b. ca. 1873. It appears that Harry was the s/o Albert D. and Mary Ann (Chase) Clarke/Clark. Other siblings in 1881 were: Alvin (18), Edward (17), Elizabeth (15) and Charles (11.) Albert D. Clark is very likely Albert DesBrisay Clark (b. ca. 1826), s/o Gershom and Elizabeth (Carle) Clark, who is given as having m. Mary Ann Chase. Their children, in the IGI, include Harry S. Clark b. 14JAN1867. The family is said to have come out of Canning Parish, Queens Co., NB; which (with the surname, Chase) makes sense. See also: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nbpast/family/begin/C-10.htm Annie Morgan, in 1881, was with her parents in Maugerville, Sunbury Co., NB, age 8 years. John Morgan was age 40, Irish, b. NB, a farmer and Church of England. His wife, Mary, was age 35, Irish, b. NB and also Church of England. Other children were: John (20), ‘Margaritt’ (18), Eliza (16), Harry (12), Ellen (10), Sarah (6) and Katherine (2.) children: 61. FRANK EDGAR CLARK b.
