Hi, Maybe I can be of help.You may want to check "New Brunswick Vital Statistics From Newspapers" a book series.You could also check the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick(PANB) web site,they are in Fredericton.They have some searchable databases. While there is no 1840 census,you may want to check the 1851 census for your Sullivans and Browns.The 1851 census is in book form also.There are some Sullivans in Fredericton and there are Irish Browns also.
