Surnames: Buchanan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4NC.2ACE/1272 Message Board Post: In 1851 York County there were two Buchanan families: one led by Duncan Buchanan (born c1812) in Red Rock, Stanley; the other by Thomas Buchanan (c1801) of Irish Town, Stanley. Both families were Scottish, and came to NB in 1835. Only one descendant (Thomas Buchanan, son of Thomas) who was born before emigration was living in 1901, when he stated he was born in Ireland. Hoping someone knows whether Duncan Buchanan and Thomas Buchanan Sr were related.. Cordially
