I am a retired genealogist who specialized in early N.B. loyalists and have books that I want to sell. I searched briefly in some re: your query and can share these comments: There were 10 early Russell N.B. loyalists, only one of whom settled in York Co. per my resource book. I have another which indicates that your William was a son of this loyalist, or certainly a descendant. My resource also indicates from which state he emigrated from. Here is the list of books I'm selling and which have these people mentioned. If you wish to buy them, I'll point out the precise sources and pages that I've referred to. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4NC.2ACE/1263 Message Board Post: If any of these surnames ring a bell with anyone there, please let me know. As I understand it and try to put everyone together where they belong, I find I can't find anything. Too much information, I suppose. But, here goes anyway: Daniel F. Meehan (1833) came from County Cork, Ireland with his wife, Jane Quigley (1839): They had the following children: Mary Meehan 1867, Jane Meehan 1869, Helena Meehan 1870, John Patrick (later known as Patrick or Pat) 1872, Rosella Meehan 1874 and Kathleen Meehan 1871. Patrick Meehan (1872) married Elizabeth King (1874) (daughter of Femer/Feneur/Phemer King (1826) and Susan Muskraw (1841) and they had the following children: Walter P. Meehan 1898, Arthur F. Meehan 1902, Helena E. Meehan 1905, Laura Jean Meehan 1903 and Susan M. Meehan 1908. All names listed except for Daniel and Jane Meehan, were born in New Brunswick, Canada. Helena Meehan (1870) married Sylvin/Sylvain LeBlanc (1868) and they had the following children: Edward S. LeBlanc 1906, Clara B. LeBlanc 1908 and Raymond N. LeBlanc 1911. Eventually all of those named above moved to Lynn, Massachusetts. Jane Meehan (1869) married an unknown O'Brien and had Laura and Frances O'Brien. Mr. O'Brien passed away and Jane married Samuel Robichaud and they had Eileen Robichaud, George Robichaud and Arthur Robichaud. I'm sorry, I do not know what their birth years were. Kathleen Meehan (1871) married George S. Stanger (1872) (son of Thomas Stanger of Scotland and Agnes Unknown). They had Birsa Stanger and Thomas Stanger (1902). Should any of this even remotely sound familiar to anyone, please let me know. I'd dearly love to get some more information or suggestions about where else to look or who to contact about it. Thank you in advance for any help or information you can give me. Pam

I think I have my man, if I'm allowed to use an educated guess. My Alexander had a daughter Margaret Rosanna Goodine (Rose Ann from the mother listed in 1851) and a son Francis (My Grandfather) named after, apparently his brother, Francis. He also had a son Alexander, apparently named after his Father Alexander. Yes, the age listed for Alex could be an error but I have observed that the years of birth typically change for nearly everyone listed anyway. Now If I could just find out who Rose Ann was. Ya I'm Greedy. My bet is she was a Mazerolle.

Surnames: Beckwith Logan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4NC.2ACE/1254.1 Message Board Post: I believe the Beckwiths were pre-Loyalists, from a Maugerville settler: Nehemiah Beckwith (1756 Norwich, CT-1815 Fredericton) (wife Julie LeBrun (~1775 Montréal-1863 Fredericton) Shipbuilder, sometime partner of Benedict Arnold. His father was a Connecticut Planter to Nova Scotia in 1761, whose g-grandfather came to Massachusetts 1637 on the ‘Sparrow Hawk’, which sank on arrival. (Perhaps that encouraged their future line of work). Nehemiah's son John Adolphus Beckwith was for a time manager of the NB&NS Land Company. Interestingly enough, the Logan family of Stanley is descended from a Beckwith Planter to Nova Scotia of the same family. The mother of George Allen Pelton (1802 Billtown,Cornwallis NS-1882 Stanley) (wife Martha Britt (1804 NS-1874 Cornwallis NS) was Phoebe Beckwith (1765 Ayelsford, NS-1834 Granville NS) wife of Roswell Pelton (1763 Groton CT-1834 Granville). Cheers. if nothing else, this will take you down some interesting byways... Jan
