Surely he must be the son of Adam King, the Loyalist of Delancey's 1st Battalion. His 1798 petition for Kings County, with -Michael Knowland (who settled at Sussex), -Jonathan Barbarie (?Captain John Babarie of 1st and 3rd New Jersey Volunteers, who settled in Sussex Vale, and whose daughter married Major Richard Witham Stockton, 6th NJ Volunteers), -James Hugg (?Hogg, master of the Loyalist transport ship Lord Townsend), -John Pennell (?), - __ Stockton, might point a way to his identity and origins. Have others investigated this, or seen the original petition? I don't believe he is a descendant of Hezekiah King, who was pre-Loyalist.
