Her mother was Martha Mabel Estabrooks born Aug 28,1884 in Midgic, NB and died January 14,1968 in Amherst,NS. Her father was Clarence Gilbert Stokes born Middle Sackville, NB on Dec 1,1871 and died Middle Sackville on April 25,1914. Martha married Layton Obed Stokes, Gibert's brother, after Clarence Gilbert's death. Both Layton and Clarence Gilbert were sons of Obediah(Obed)Chute Stokes and Ellen(Thompson) Stokes. Obed and Ellen are my great great great grandparents. I know where they are buried at Four Corners cemetery in Middle Sackville,NB Zilpha's siblings were Alberta born 1904, Clarence Gilbert Jr born 1905, Carl Kenneth born 1906. Zilpha had several hgalf-siblings as well through her mother's second marriage. This Clarence Gilbert Stokes, father of Zilpha, was a younger brother to my great great grandmother Cynthia Stokes who married Burpee Estabrooks. While I am too young to remember Zilpha, I do remember my great grandfather taking me as a small child to visit his cousin Carl Stokes, who lived in Dorchester, NB.
