Grace. I fear the story that Mary was a d/o John Toler, 1st Earl of Norbury, is very unlikely as Lord John was created 1st Earl in 1824; well after the events generally described took place. John is considered a brother of Toler/Tolar Thompson, and the similarity in names seems to have given rise to some extravagant speculation. Either that or someone was having a bit of a joke.
