Checked the Saint John paper for that time frame hoping to get lucky, but nothing. Hopefully someone with access to the 1971 Moncton paper microfilm sees this and can take a look for you. Re: Ward family Just to piggyback on the Ward info posted here, can you or anyone give suggestions on how to locate descendants of Reuben Salisbury Ward and his wife Olivia Cole? Olivia is the sister of my gt. gt. grandfather Edward Cole. Their mother was Margaret Wade. I've been searching for many years for info on Margaret Wade and have found nothing but brick walls. It's my hope to contact someone descended from Olivia to see if there is any family information about this woman. Right now, the best I have is that she was beamed down from the USS Enterprise. I've been unable to locate any family whatsoever connected to Margaret Wade. It's possible she was connected to the Colpitts family and came from Yorkshire, but I have no more evidence of that than I do for the Enterprise theory. I would really appreciate any help with this. Reuben and Olivia had a fairly large family. There has to be some descendants somewhere. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <CAN-NB-WESTMORLAND-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2008 6:30 PM Subject: Re: [Westmorland Co NB] Hicks in Westmorland Co. She was born 20 Nov 1891 in Advocate Harbour, Cumberland Co., N.S. Her father was a blacksmith, born in Advocate Harbour. Bessie (Clark) Melanson made the application on February 14, 1961; at that time, she was residing at 209 Mountain Road in Moncton, N.B. The application is supported by various records [reference to census records and a family bible], and an affidavit sworn by her uncle, Harry C.
