For Michael Cole, William Read and Christopher Wry. For Michael I have him married to Cynthia Estabrooks, with one child Ruth. For William I have him married to Ethel King and no children. For Christopher Wry I have him not married but have his parents as John and Phebe (Maxwell). I received the above information from a fellow genealogist and not from any Census so would like to know if I have the right information,,,,,,,if these are the same people as on the 1851 Census. Thank you. Nancy R. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. In my research, I have Clara Ann Thompson's parents as William Thompson [b. abt 1818; died 1858, buried in the Four Corners Burying Ground in Sackville] and Lucy Brownell [b. abt 1811, died 1898, buried same cemetery as her husband]. Lucy & William were married 8 Feb 1844 in Westmorland County. My research shows them with 4 children: 1. Sarah Ann, 1845 - 1847 2. Clara Ann, 1847 - 23 July 1916 3. William Milledge, b. abt March 1851; married Isadore Read in Oct 1882 in Cumberland Co, N.S. 4. Author: mlund Surnames: Thompson, Lund, Towse Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.newbrunswick.westmorland/1060.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The origins of Jacob Thompson b 1818 and his first wife Ruth (Lund) b abt 1820 have been frustratingly difficult to determine, but the discovery of them and their children in the 1850 census for East Machias, Maine provides some hints for Ruth at least. East Machias was a booming coastal town not far from the NB border at that time. A good portion of its inhabitants migrated from NB or NS as the 1850 census records. George Lund Jr also appears in that census inland from East Machias in a place known then as Plantation 14, now locally known as Lunds Corner. George Jr has many descendants in the area. HIs father George Sr was a pioneer settler in Cookville, beyond Upper Sackville NB. He appears there in the 1851 NB census with his wife Jane (Ibbitson), also a son Thomas, 20, previously unknown. Her son John (my g'g'grandfather) married to Mary Anne (Towse) is nearby. For over 100 years there have been "other Lunds" in or from the Sackville area whose origins were unknown, ! descending from Henry A and Daniel Lund. The 1851 census records them as Henry and Daniel Towse, orphans, with George and Jane. Henry (Towse) Lund became a sea captain out of Calais Maine, on the NB border. Daniel lost an arm as a sailor in the US Civil War: he returned to settle in Sackville. Mary Anne's Towse family lived on Aboujagan Road near Cookville (Towse Road still connects the 2 areas). Most of the Sackville Towses on record descend from John and Mary Towse who arrived from Yorkshire in 1817, the same year George Lund arrived. However, at least 2 brothers came with John: it must have been one of them who died leaving the orphans Henry and Daniel. So here, at last, is my point: Ruth Lund may have been another unknown child of George and Jane Lund, or the widow of the deceased Mr Towse. Interestingly, Jacob Thompson was living on Aboujagan Road when he died in 1889. Ruth is buried near the Towse and Lund sites in the Upper Sackville graveyard. Now I was wondering if anyone had access to any birth, marriage and or death records from church or other or possible obituaries for Frank/Francois Burke/Bourque (b. About 1816 in Acadie ) and his wife Marguerite "Margaret" LeBlanc (b. May 22, 1813 in Menoudie, Cumberland County, NS - d. December 6, 1880 in Scoudouc, N.B.)they married sometime in 1835 in New Brunswick. Now I'm trying to find out anything else I can to confirm that Frank's parents were Maximan Bourque (b. May 28, 1783) and Claire Legere (b. 1786 in Acadie, New Brunswick - d. July 17, 1872 in Scoudouc, Westmorland Co. NB) I know that my Frank and Margaret had at least one child, Philip Bourque/Burke. (B. May 10, 1850 - Meadowbrook, NB - D. April 15, 1932 - Weymouth, Digby County, Nova Scotia) Would like to find out if their were any more children also. Thanks for any info that could help!! I found this looking for Michael and Cynthia Cole, who are at the bottom of p. 59. Their children George and Mary are at the top of p. 62. Searching further, I found that pages 58-61 should be read in this order: 58, 60, 59, 62, 61. This affects the families of William Read, Christopher Wry, Michael Cole, and Thomas Baird. In each instance, spouses and children are separated because the pages are out of order. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
