    1. [Westmorland Co NB] Card Ancestry
    2. DAVID ORAM
    3. I have sent this request twice to a volunteer on the RAOGK site with no response so I thought I would try this list. I am a fellow volunteer from Massachusetts. I am currently doing research for a lady in Florida on the Card family. Her main interest was the ancestry of Benjamin Miles Card born Woodhurst, New Brunswick about 1858, according to his death certificate from Danvers, Mass. Unfortunately it didn't have the names of his parents. I believe his brother was Bedford Layton Card who was living in Sackville, Westmorland, New Brunswick in the 1911 census. PANB lists Bedford's death as April 22, 1948, Westmorland County, Reg. 3240, Vol. 184, Microfilm F19588. If you could look at that microfilm for his parents & also find an obituary in one of the local newspapers it would be greatly appreciated. I found both Miles Card & Bedford Card in the 1881 census but they were both married at that time. If you had access to the Sackville, Westmorland, New Brunswick census for 1871 & 1861 it may show their family. Thank You for any help, David W. Oram Lynn, Ma.

Adelaide had a sister, Marie or Mary. A brother Halvor Harry Hansen married Belle Petitpas. She was his second wife. His first was Mary Bridget Holman. He had children by both wives. I have examined microfilms for the 1861 and 1871 census and couldn't find them, but many strips on these films were unreadable. (Moncton, Moncton Parish, Salisbury) Hopefully someone could kindly check published reports of the Westmorland 1861 & 1871 Census for me. A Saint John newspaper reports the death of their son Percy A Polleys at Moncton on 12 Dec 1875. The Moncton Times indicates William was in the Quesnel, B.C. area in 1876 working as a miner. B.C. directories list William at Quesnel Forks in 1893 and 1895. However, Elizbeth and one son appear to have returned to Moncton by that time.
