Author: thomasamurray1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.newbrunswick.westmorland/4727.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Information after 1911, for confidentiality reasons, may be hard to come by. There was an Anna Williams who m. Saint John County, New Brunswick 1APR1915 Holmes Livingston Cook. I do not find him in the 1901 or 1911 census returns of New Brunswick nor Nova Scotia. An Annie Williams b. JUL1898 was a domestic with William O. and Annie J. Slipp in the 1911 census of Hampton Station, Hampton Parish, Kings Co., NB. This is relatively close to Saint John. It was indicated in the census that she was b. in England and arrived in NB in 1911. The couple she worked for were William Odbur Slipp and Annie Jane McLeod. William d. in Saint John Co. 18APR1912; so Anna Williams may have gone to work for someone else at the time. William O. Slipp was from Cambridge Parish, Queens Co., NB and may have been buried there. In 1881, there was a Holmes Cook b. ca. 1874, s/o Henry and Mary Cook, in New Germany, Lunenburg Co., Novas Scotia. Estabrook's/Estabrooks'/ etc. are numerous in NB, perhaps a bit more so in the Sackville area, and have been around since before NB existed. Anderson's are probably only slightly less numerous. To identify a specific family with either surname would require fairly specific information. Thomas Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [Westmorland Co NB] Sackville, Westmorland Co., 1851 Census Error
    2. That's correct. I'm in touch with, frequently, families who are descendants of Martin and Sarah Crossman Cole. This family has the surname Buck. Due to the marriage of a Buck and a Cole, this family is related to my branch twice, through my gt. gt. grandmother Catherine Buck who married Edward Cole, s/o Ebenezer Cole and his second wife Margaret Wade. Interestingly enough, a few Bucks and a few Coles ended up in Framingham MA and lived nearby each other. The younger generations didn't know they were related to each other. They do now and have created a Buck family page where all the related Cole and Buck desecndants are staying in touch on a fairly regular basis. It's pretty neat. ---- "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: pamrthompson > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.newbrunswick.westmorland/4710.1.1.1.1.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > The Martin Cole who m. 2. I have this Martin Cole, b. 1820, m. (Dec. 13 1847) to Cynthia Ann Barnes, b.c. 1826. They are the parents of Wilson Cole. This Martin was the s/o David Cole and his wife Lavinia Throop. David was the s/o Martin Cole and his wife Zilpha Alverson. This Martin was the s/o Jonathan Cole and Abigail Martin, the original settlers from Swansea MA. ---- "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: pamrthompson > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.newbrunswick.westmorland/4710.1.1.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I do not show a son named Martin b. 1820 for Michael Grace Cole and Cynthia Esterbrooks. I could not identify them. These are my notes: > > ----- > Next door to Albert and Cynthia Ayer in 1851 is the family of Martin Cole, b. about 1820, and his wife Cynthia A., b. about 1826. This family lives nearby in 1881 (with son Wilson Cole). In 1891 Albert and Cynthia live next door to Wilson Cole, his mother Cynthia, and widowed sister Ruth and her children. In 1901 Cynthia Ayer, living with her son Jesse, is still next door to Wilson Cole. > > Wilson Cole m. Kate M. Ayer on 2 Aug 1897 in Westmorland Co. Wilson Cole and Katherine Mae Ayer had Albert Russell Cole on 19 Jan 1910 in Beech Hill, Westmorland Co. He d. in Westmorland Co. on 25 May 1952. [PANB] > ----- > > I'd love to figure this out! I'm leaning toward Michael G. and Cynthia Cole who are buried in the same cemetery as Martin & Cynthia. Martin's daughter Emily's husband Edward Wheaton is also buried there. Thanks for Martin's wife Cynthia's maiden name, Barnes. Do you know who her parents were? I'm doing this research for Edward and Emily (Cole) Wheaton's great granddaughter. Any information you can share would be appreciated. Thanks, Janice Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
