    3. To all members of these lists, including 3 special Canadians, who just went out of their way to help this American stranger, particularly to the member of CAN-NS-CUMBERLAND-L who suggested to me to contact a Mr. Ernest FRIARS, of Wards Creek, NB, and to John COLWELL, a member of the NewBrunswick list, Thank you!!!!! If any of you know how to reach Mr. Friars easily, please tell him "Thank you" from me. I will write him a proper "Thank you" very shortly, but my excitement tonight at finding in the information that he obviously spent hours and hours on for me, a complete stranger, a marriage for my 2GGrandparents, keeps me from waiting. I am practically crying as I write this. I have looked for any piece of information on this couple for 5 years, and in the mail tonight, from two strangers, Mr. Friars and Mr. Colwell, came two pieces of information on them, one a marriage, one a census. You'll are the best! Thank you again. You're a great bunch! Now one question: The marriage was 17 May 1848, the bride was "of Portland", the info came from "Early Marriage Records of NB" by B. Wood-Holt. Is there likely to be a marriage license? Or is there only a marriage bond, which does not include any family info (at least based on the three that I have recieved so far from St. John). The marriage was of John Mumford and Frances Allen, Portland. Witnesses: Hannah Allen, Robert Logan God Bless, Beverly Alexander Culpeper, VA, USA alexlary@crosslink.net I hear ethereal whispers persuasive, soft and still, "Daughter, if you don't remember us, who will?"
