    3. Dear Judith, Thank you for your input on this web site. I do not think that this Rowland is in the right family, as he is not mentioned in Elisha CLARKE's will in 1785 and I have not found an entry for him being the child of Elisha CLARKE and Desire GARDNER on the Rhopde Island Vital Records. I also checked the 1782 census of Rhode Island, and my Elisha only has five sons living at home with him and his wife, Desire, as well as one daughter, who I now know was Abigail. I will take the opportunity to contact this Mr. Taylor, however, to see why he feels that there is a family match here. Perhaps he has soem primary evidence whih i have not yet been able to uncover.
