Dear Listers, I am still looking for more information on the date of arrival of my CLARKE/CLARK family in New Brunswick in 1783. I have not been able to find any direct reference to the arrival of the family of Elisha CLARKE and Desire GARDNER in 1783. It appears that they came in 1783 based on Jabez' application for a land grant in Ontario, where eh stated he came from Rhode Island in 1783 with his father. There seems to be a bit of confusion about them returning to Rhode Island as Elisha's will was probated there in 1785 but it doesn't state where he died. There are documents which state that Desire had then been given permission to travel to New Brunswick in 1785 with her children, some of whom would have been adults in their 20's at that time. Desire returned to New Brunswick with at least four sons, Gardiner, Elisha Jr., Jabez, Benjamin and one daughter, Abigail. I have noticed that several people have also been requesting passenger list information and refer to the Spring Fleet or the Fall Fleet. Can anyone give me guidance as to where I should look for more information on the arrival of the Loyalists and the actual passenger lists? I have already checked out the books on-line at PANB, the NB GEN web site and and the Esther Clark Wright books on New Brunswick Loyalists, but have not found the references which I am seeking. I also have been checking the passenger lists at the National Archives when I go to Ottawa, but not been successful in locating this family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kindest regards, Anne Clark-Stewart Mississauga, Ontario
