Looking for information on these families as they appear to be connected and I haven't been able to figure out the connection. I suspect that Elizabeth Miller may be the daughter of Thomas LOBAN, and Robert LOBAN may be his grandson. I can't get the Dickens connection. It's possible Margery is also the daughter of Thomas as the names run the same but it's equally possible that one of Elizabeth's daughters married a DICKENS. MILLER David and Elizabeth, are in Chatham in 1851 and have issue James; Lydia; Catharine; Ellen; Mary; Thomas and possibly Jane. (in 1851 Jane is listed as Niece of William Loban). In 1871 David is no longer with the family and there are an Inkerman, David and Elizabeth MILLER listed as Grandchildren. In 1871 there are and Ellen, David and William DICKENS living with Elizabeth, Lydia, Thomas and Inkerman. DICKENS William and Margery are in Glenelg in 1851 and have issue William, Sophia, Thomas, Jane, Peter, Robert Catharine, Lydia Joseph, and a Jane MATTHEWS who is listed as Niece. In 1861 Thomas MILLER is living with the family and listed as Servant. LOBAN Robert and Catherine (TAYLOR) of Glenelg had issue Helen, Alexander, Robert, Catharine, Jane, Margaret, Margery. Also in the home is Helen TAYLOR who I believe is Catherine's sister. In 1911 Alexander is living with Willliam DICKENS and listed as Brother in Law. Also in the DICKENS home in 1911 if Flora LOBAN listed as Niece. Would welcome hearing from anyone with any of these names in their line to help figure out the connection. Thanks Debbie
