Her maiden name was Vautour and she was born in St. Louis, Kent Co. She married a Poirier and had a daughter in 1886, named Delia. Poirier died around 1887. Melanie then married Alexander Brun in Northumberland Co. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the States. There may have been other children.
