    1. [CAN-NB-NORTHUMBERLAND-L] SWAIN
    2. Hi, I am new to this list. I am researching the SWAIN family. Not much is known except that Bernadette SWAIN b Aug 28 1927, died May 30 2002 was from New Brunswick and I have found a SWAIN family from this place in the 1901 census. Nothing to connect her to the family though. Any help is much appreciated. Regards, Catherine

    3. Hello Catherine, My name is Krista and I am researching some Swains from New Brunswick who are the descendants of George Swain and Ellen Hartery who were from the Nelson , Newcastle, Chatham area. By the way...I am a Hartery descendant. To my knowledge, there were two sons born of this couple to carry the Swain surname, Patrick, b. 1902 and Charles, b. 1897. Does this information match any of yours? Krista millerinme@yahoo.com --- catherine.fitzgerald@sympatico.ca wrote: > Hi, I am new to this list. > I am researching the SWAIN family. 3. Swain searchers should be aware that the name in early records could have been "Swim". It is also possible (which I have found) that "Swain" later turned into "Swim". I have a William Swim, Esq, whose daughter married Edward Carroll, moved to Stillwater, MN, and died there on 30 Mar 1888. She was the second daughter of William Swim, born about 1825-1830, probably on the Miramichi. She had four sisters and one brother, also William. --------- Joe > From: Krista <millerinme@yahoo.com> > Reply-To: CAN-NB-NORTHUMBERLAND-L@rootsweb.com > Date: Wed, 19 Mar 2003 15:52:12 -0800 (PST) > To: CAN-NB-NORTHUMBERLAND-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [CAN-NB-NORTHUMBERLAND-L] SWAIN > Resent-From: CAN-NB-NORTHUMBERLAND-L@rootsweb.com > Resent-Date: Wed, 19 Mar 2003 16:52:04 -0700 > > Hello Catherine, > > My name is Krista and I am researching some Swains > from New Brunswick who are the descendants of George > Swain and Ellen Hartery who were from the Nelson , > Newcastle, Chatham area.
