Don, I am researching the decendands of David Stephens of Ludlow. This is the same David mentioned on pg6 in "Over the Portage". My GG-grandmother is the widow of Charles Stephens mentioned in Wiggin's "History of Aroostook" in the Merrill section. The widow was Ruth Cummings Stuart of Ludlow and the namesake of Ruth Cummings, daughter of one of the original settlers of Belfast Academy Grant.
