    3. Thank you for the nice additions to my source documentation. Now if someone could just find a record of birth for Abigail Sewell, daughter of Dominicus, I'd be a happy camper. This is what I have for her: {From Nashwaak Bicentenial Assn (Application for Old Soldier's Pension): On June 22, 1838, Abigail applied for relief. She stated that her husband, John Sutherland, had served for eight years as a Private in the 42nd Highland Regiment and that she was now 63 years old, very infirm, and unable to support herself. She stated that her son, William, had died the previous Fall and that the only living son had a family of his own. Her son, William, had died at the residence of Thomas W. Underhill, Blackville Parish, at the age of 23. William was Thomas' brother and Underhill was Thomas' brother-in-law through his sister Mary Ann. Possible birthdate July 17, 1769 at Beverly, MA [Vital records of Beverly, MA]} The problem with this birth date is that it conflicts with the info you have just given me that Elizabeth was born August 27, 1769. Ah, the mystery continues. I have corresponded with several people about this family but no one seems to have more than is already online, which is where I got much of it. I had not heard of the references you gave, and I have never traveled to Canada to do research. The sad part is my mother spends all summer every year in Nova Scotia but has no interest in genealogy! I do have the notation that Dominicus was buried at Lincoln, Sunbury, NB, CAN, but someone told me there is no stone for him. Sarah Thorndyke Sewell supposedly also died at Sunbury. As for your Jane Bubar, I got the name from someone but it was not sourced. Of course, there were so many Bubars in Nashwaak in that time frame that she could belong to any of them. One even moved to Miramichi along with my Sutherlands. So, yes, I am a cousin through Abigail Sewell. I live in Southern California where it has been on the low 100s for several days and the fruit trees smell like cooked fruit! Most of the fruit has fallen because of the heat. As I was finishing this, I found the file someone else sent me. It was put together by Nancy Goodwin, wife of an Abigail Sewell descendant. As soon as I get it figured out (formatting lost in the ZIP compaction when it was sent to me) I will share it. Regards, Sharyn
