    3. Hi Brenda, I was wondering if you had a book or something on Miramichi area of 1837. If you do I am looking for Thomas Chase/Chace who was born 1837 there about. And I am searching for his parents names. Thank you in advance. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/0NC.2ACE/371.2 Message Board Post: Hi Michael, The following info is taken from "Old Northesk on the Miramichi 25th Anniversary Edition" by W.D. Hamilton: Charles and his sister Catherine were baptized in Hartpury Parish, Gloucestershire, England on Sept 15, 1819. His parents were Richard White and Mary Buston. The 1851 census indicate they entered New Brunswick in 1822 but may have lived on Prince Edward Island first. They were on the Miramichi by 1837 when Richard applied for a land grant on the Chaplin Island Road (North Esk parish). The grant was not approved and the family settled in Blackville parish. An 18 year old son died at Blackville in 1847 and 2 sons were living there in 1851. In 1851, Richard and Mary were living in Woodstock, NB along with 3 of their other children. Mary died in 1857 at age 75 according to her tombstone in the Ellis-Trafton Cemetery at Ashland ME. Charles married Sarah Ann Ealey August 6, 1949. Two years later they moved to Ashland and returned around 1862 with their 5 eldest children and settled at Sillikers. After Sarah's death in 1902, Charles and many of his adult children followed Frank W. Sanford to "Shiloh", the religious colony near Lisbon Falls ME, where Charles died in 1907. ==== CAN-NB-NORTHUMBERLAND Mailing List ==== To contact the List Admin off list about any list problem, write to: can-nb-northumberland-admin@rootsweb.com If it's of general interest to subscribers, simply post it to the list. ============================== Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the areas they lived.
