I asking for help from anyone that might be able to help me out with find'n out where in Scotland John McLeod was born and whom his parents were. There must be some kind of record where he was from & what family he was connected to when he joined the 42nd Regiment of Foot. His land grant was up on the Maramarchi River but the land was not good so he moved to Ludlow and was settling a piece on land there when he passed away in 1821. He wife Susannah Hovey-b=1793 in Gagetown,NB petitoned for this land stating that she was the widow of John McLeod. John & Susannah had 5 children = Daniel, Elizabeth,Aaron,Roderick,Dorothy. In 1823 Susannah Hovey McLeod remarried to Abel Pond and Abel's name is on the land grant maps after 1823 for that John's grant. Any Help I'd Be Most THANKFUL FOR Point me in the right direction Please. Hold Fast Grinnell MacLeod Wood II
