I found Steele records which helped me fill in some gaps and I also found what I believe to be the Hugh I was looking for. Looks like you were right and he was the s/o Alexander and unknown(to me). Hugh Muray Stewart was born on July 5, 1840 to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Stewart. I think he did probably marry Susan Ashford after Elizabeth's death.
