Sophia Miller married Absalom Rushton March 29th 1856. They were my GreatGreat Grandparents. I believe Sophia's Mother's maiden name was McDonald. I have quite a bit of information on Absalom, but nothing on Sophia. Any information much appreciated. Dorothy Bulmer Moncton NB

Also in the home at the time is Pheobe WILLISTON, and her children Edward, Bartlett and Edith. In 1911 MILLER is listed as HEAD and WILLISTON is his Housekeeper. Does anyone know who Thomas MILLER was (was he the son of David MILLER and Elizabeth LOBAN?) and what the relationship between he and Williston was? Greetings All By this time you will all be aware of the low response of YES answers to the informed consent question on the 2006 Census. We all agree that something must be done to prevent a similar result for the Census of 2011. Bill S-18 provided for a review of the administration and operation of the 'informed consent' provision that we were forced to accept without opposition in order to regain public access to Historic Census records. We are hoping that pressure from genealogists and historians might prompt an early review and ask that you write your parliamentary representatives seeking their support for this to happen. On 16 July 2007, representatives of the Canadian Historical Association, along with myself will be meeting with Anil Arora, Director General, Census Program Branch, Census Manager of Statistics Canada. Representatives of the Canadian Sociological Association and the Canadian Political Science Association may be in attendance as well. The meeting will be held in Ottawa, and the subject matter of the meeting will be the 'informed consent' question imposed on us by Bill S-18. We are hoping that meetings with Information Commissioner Robert Marleau, and Privacy Commissioner Jennifer Stoddart can be arranged for the same time, but that has yet to be confirmed. I will keep you informed of any further developments. Gordon A. I'm looking for any Flieger family member who might have information on Janice (Flieger) Farber, born in 1922 and died about 1975. She was married to Solomon Farber, and had 2 children: Kurt and Sharon Farber. Janice was fair skinned and had bright red hair. They lived in Buffalo, New York. We know nothing more about her, her family, where they came from, or how long they've been in the country. This Friday June 8, my wife and I will leave to attend our son's wedding. We will return home about a week later. Since we do have a normally quiet list I am not going to have someone watch my lists while I am gone, but if the opportunity presents itself I will try look in on them myself if circumstances allow it. In any event, I will read and respond to all mail in order of receipt when I return. If there are any problems I will do my best to resolve them quickly when I get back, but if you have need to contact me please use the list admin addy below and also keep in mind I may not be able to reply for a week or so beginning June 8. I will still be here "minding the store" until that time. Thank you for your cooperation. David E. There were two Keenan families in Chatham in 1861 b(James and Patrick) both with a daughter Mary who disappeared between the 1861 and 1871 census. My suspicion is that Mrs. Neil Ahearn was the Daughter of James Keenan and her brother, James married Agness KERR. Would welcome hearing from anyone working on any of these names. Second, I am looking for any info on John and Annie (Brown) MacLean/McLean. I only know of one child Sarah Jane (1872-1928). Sarah Jane married James Michael Young and on every census later was referred to as just Jane. It also lists her as being of Scottish decent. On any Canadian papers, she is listed as Mc but US papers say Mac.
