Author: thomasamurray1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.newbrunswick.northumberland/1273.1.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The McCallum web site I referred you to should be fairly accurate and have a fairly up-to-date summary. The compiler is one of many researchers of the inter-related families in Tabusintac who have shared information and sources for some time now. There are still questions and mysteries. For example, my grandfather m. 2nd a McCallum; and a distant cousin. She told me, quite strictly, that the spelling was MacCallum. Her sister, on the other hand, insisted it was McCallum. Both spellings are used, and I prefer to avoid participation in the debate. I understand that some McCallum's went to the Gaspe, and some to Ontario fairly early on. Your family probably were following the logging business. The web site could probably answer any questions I would be able to answer, but I found the index a bit difficult to deal with. Apparently the 'next page' feature was omitted. Thomas Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
