Is anyone related to the Beatties of Kouchibouguac? Thanks. Don Beattie of Winthrop, ME. Beattie Brook in Kouchibouguac is named for my great, great grandfather John Baytie (Beattie). He and Nancy (Clarke) Beattie had four sons and many descendants from them: James. John, Peter and George. James Beattie married a Patterson and Tweedies, etc., I believe. I know that there are/were both Protestants and Catholics in Kouchibouguac. My Beatties were Presbyterians. There are still two Presbyterian churches there and one Roman Catholic Church. Not many people there though I suspect. **************Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? I don't have any blood relationships with Flanagans that I am aware of, only by marriage. I believe you are correct in assuming that the two girls are James' sisters. I know that the 2 girls married brothers John & William Hackett. The children from these two marriages married into my Daley/Flynn/Quinn/Cook family. Re Reinsboroughs. I know the name. The priest at St Michael's church who sent me a copy of my greatgrandparents, Anthony Daley & Ellen Flynn, marriage was a Reinsborough. I can send Reinsborough Family Group Sheets that I have if you wish. I have 2 Roberts in my file, one who died in 1918 & his father. I am not familiar with the name Fetherham. I am sorry that I couldn't help you further. She was born in Ireland around 1808 or 1811. She married James McDonald. They immigrated to New Brunswick in 1831. They settled in Glenelg, Northumberland County. They had seven children: George, Patrick, Maria, Ann, Martin, Bridget, and John. According to the 1851 census, James and Julia lived next door to John and Catherine Hackett. They also lived next to William and Margaret Hackett. I think Margaret Hackett was James' sister. Her maiden name was McDonald. Do you think Julia Flanagan McDonald could be related to your Flanagans? I would like to know the names of her parents and where she came from in Ireland. I am also related to the Reinsboroughs. Robert Reinsborough is my line. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It was a piece written up in the Miramachi Newspaper.Where do you live. The Flanagan in the area of New Brunswick were very well off.
