The Johanna Hayes was from Moncton she was the wife of James Flanagan (merchant). Is this another James Flanagan than the one belonging to Martin Flanagan or is he the son of Martin Flanagan of Northumberland? My beleif is that he is Martins son as the newspaper article on Mary Flanagan's funeral says that two nephews from Moncton attended James Flanagan and Mrs. Julia Sutton. Ann sometimes used her step-father's surname, which is why, as in the marriage record, she was sometimes 'Weeks'. Jesse worked for Stephen Blanchard, and Stephen eventually married Jesse's step-daughter. I do have a more elaborate explanation, but it is too long for this site. It tells me that Stephen Blanchard married Annie WEEKS on 9 October, 1883. Further, the marriage Ref # is 7335. Thats all she wrote! PANB used to mail out a copy of a record upon receipt of a request for it containing this information. Their fee was $7, I believe, the last time I used the service. I don't know what it is now .......perhaps another reader will provide that information. I have no info on their deaths. Best of luck, Jim MacKenzie PS.....sorry if a lot of guch appears here in my name. I tried to reply via e-mail in the normal way, but I kept getting a message that "there is no such address", so I rtried another address, then I discovered this way of doing it!. I have been on the New Brunswick vital records site, but cannot seem to locate what I need. The first record is a marriage between Stephen Blanchard and Ann (unsure of maiden name). I have a date of 8 October 1883. I believe the marriage took place in Tabusintac, Northumberland. The second record I need is Stephen's death certificate. For that I have a date of 1903. Any help you can give me I appreciate. Thanks! Sarah Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am looking for any records, especially for land registry index, of Thomas Frecker in Chatham. He grew up there, then later in life moved to Richibucto. I do have him marrying Emma Card in Chatham 3 Apr 1844. (She died 1854). Also looking for any reference to any family named CARD in Chatam in the 1830s and 1840s. Any ideas welcome. On the FTDNA site scroll to the bottom of the page. Under "About The Family Tree DNA Database," click on "Surname Projects" where you will find us under "A." Our goal is to discover if/how we are related to other Astle families in North America, England and elsewhere. We have started by testing a descendant of the younger James Astles, a discharged British soldier, who landed with a group of United Empire Loyalists at New Carlisle, Quebec in 1784 and settled there. We invite participation from all variations of the Astle surname from any location. Of particular interest is having representation from descendants of the elder James Astles who arrived in New Carlisle in 1784 and apparently soon went on to New Brunswick, since we do not know if the two James Astles are related. I would recommend their services as a starting point. I strongly caution you and any others seeking information from this repository to continue your own investigative research based off whatever findings they provide. Years ago I requested info on an individual on one branch of my tree and they gave me all sorts of names/info on a family which turned out to be unrelated. My ancestor had a first and last name and a birth date similar to a few other individuals that lived in the Chatham area. The centre was certain this was my family so I spent the following year or two chasing leads based off this information. Meanwhile, I had a nagging feeling it was all wrong. I eventually found the correct family and contacted the museum about correcting the family file. Good luck with your research!
