    1. (no subject)
    2. We have been speaking of Tim Horton's donut shops and Irving's Gas Stations in New Brunswick, I have wondered when they came into existence. I wonder how many of our ancestors started them, own them, worked there and went to them, when they were first built and open for business in this fine land? My trip to New Brunswick last month would not have been the same without the both of them. I don't drink coffee but the donuts were so yummy! I went almost everyday. I had a great rental for gas mileage so I didn't have to get gas too often but I stopped in for newspapers and goodies. Thank goodness for them. I really would love to retire in New Brunswick. Good luck researching, Colleen Donnelly-Tandiama

    1. MILLER -DICKENS -- LOBAN --TAYLOR
    2. B&DStack
    3. Looking for information on these families as they appear to be connected and I haven't been able to figure out the connection. I suspect that Elizabeth Miller may be the daughter of Thomas LOBAN, and Robert LOBAN may be his grandson. I can't get the Dickens connection. It's possible Margery is also the daughter of Thomas as the names run the same but it's equally possible that one of Elizabeth's daughters married a DICKENS. MILLER David and Elizabeth, are in Chatham in 1851 and have issue James; Lydia; Catharine; Ellen; Mary; Thomas and possibly Jane. (in 1851 Jane is listed as Niece of William Loban). In 1871 David is no longer with the family and there are an Inkerman, David and Elizabeth MILLER listed as Grandchildren. In 1871 there are and Ellen, David and William DICKENS living with Elizabeth, Lydia, Thomas and Inkerman. DICKENS William and Margery are in Glenelg in 1851 and have issue William, Sophia, Thomas, Jane, Peter, Robert Catharine, Lydia Joseph, and a Jane MATTHEWS who is listed as Niece. In 1861 Thomas MILLER is living with the family and listed as Servant. LOBAN Robert and Catherine (TAYLOR) of Glenelg had issue Helen, Alexander, Robert, Catharine, Jane, Margaret, Margery. Also in the home is Helen TAYLOR who I believe is Catherine's sister. In 1911 Alexander is living with Willliam DICKENS and listed as Brother in Law. Also in the DICKENS home in 1911 if Flora LOBAN listed as Niece. Would welcome hearing from anyone with any of these names in their line to help figure out the connection. Thanks Debbie

    1. Steeves line
    2. Wanda
    3. I'm looking for someone to contact who has the Steeves genealogy and can make corrections on the misinformation written by Ester Clark Wright. My great grandmother is Nora (no "H") daughter of Mary Jane Bazley and Elias Keith Steeves. Nora married David A. Fraser of the Pictou Fraser's. I'm well aware that is to late to do the repair to the Wright book but I'd prefer fact not fiction in the records. For anyone who has ever read this book Gertrude May Ryder who married Allister F. Fraser son of Nora they did not ever have a daughter named Ethel, try granddaughter. We have Elias's calling card, birth, marriage and death records and photos of Nora and David. Her sister Maude also gave misinformation on Nora's death record. Noir were they married in Salem MA. Thank you Wanda of ME

    1. Church of Scotland Church Records --Loban
    2. B&DStack
    3. Wondering if anyone knows where I'd locate Church of Scotland records. The family started in Grand Downs and later lived in Chatham. I have checked with the Presbyterian church (United) in Chatham but only the later records are there. I am searching for the daughters of Thomas LOBAN. Thomas died in 1817 so the records of his death may not exist (I suspect they have been lost to fire). His children were married later than this though so I'm thinking those records may exist somewhere and would welcome any information anyone could supply. Thanks Debbie
