The first is the original St. Andrew's Church, built in 1817 at the corner of Water and St. Andrew's Streets. The next is a second St. Andrew's Church, built in 1870 at Wellington and Henderson Streets. The third is yet another St. Andrew's at 4464 Water Street (at the corner of what looks like Know Street). And fourth is the old St. John's Presbyterian, built probably sometime after 1870 at the corner of Church Street and University Avenue (originally St. John's Street). I only have an address for the St. Andrew's at 4464 Water Street. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I found Steele records which helped me fill in some gaps and I also found what I believe to be the Hugh I was looking for. Looks like you were right and he was the s/o Alexander and unknown(to me). Hugh Muray Stewart was born on July 5, 1840 to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Stewart. I think he did probably marry Susan Ashford after Elizabeth's death.
Hello list, I just came across something I hadn't seen before and thought it may be of interest to those researching Nothumberland Co. I came across it quite by accident and never noticed it before even though I have an interest in Kent Co. too. These were early baptisms from St.Andrews and St. Johns United Church. I believe they may all be Presbyterian. Certainly, several I recognized were. Here is the link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nbken/BaptNorth.html Now, I really want to know where Backlots was since one of my Steeles is listed having been born there. Baptism records from the United Church of St. Andrew and St. John in Chatham list his children as Janet McFarlane (b. 1832), Sarah (b. 1834), Aaron (b. 1836), George (b. 1838), and Isabella (b. 1840). The last child was presented for baptism by "Mrs Robt. Thompson (widow)". Other Thom(p)son father listed in the baptism records include: William, David, John, and Joseph. Perhaps one or more of these are siblings of Robert's -- at the very least they are probably cousins.

Thomas and Margaret Crosbie came from Dumfries, Scotland. They had 4 sons: William, John, James and George. 1. William married Marion Steel. Their son William went to Saint John. Son Alfred stayed in Chatham. I have information on at least these two sons and daughter Margaret who went to Maine via Massachusetts. I found as much as possible on PANB and on-line censuses on both Willam (Saint John) and Alfred but would like to know more about their children. 2. John married Margaret Johnson. I have traced their son John Graham to Massachusetts. Have some information on their children Jane, Margaret,Alexander and Walter. 3.James is on the 1881 census but I can't find anything other than that. His wife's name was Mary A. unknown and they had two children. 4. George Graham went to Newfoundland. I know some names listed on PANB marriages and deaths are connected to the family but I would like to know how. I would also like to know for sure if Ida Scott was the sister of Bessie Scott. They both seem to have been married to Alexander Crosbie. I know that the Palmer family also has a connection somehow. At least one Crosbie child from some family was raised by Palmers. Several years ago, I spoke to the only members of the Crosbie family livng in Miramichi. I was told by one that the families were definitely not related but the 1861 census shows otherwise. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

They had a son Edward Joseph Dutcher, and my mother was Bertha Rae Dutcher. Annie died in January 1917 after a short illness and George H. died in a boiler explosion in Foreston, Carlton County, New Brunswick in January 1922. The three kids were placed in an orphange. The way the story goes is" the person who was responsible for the kids, sold the house and took the profits and headed for the States." The families had nothing to do also with the kids, because they had broken all ties with the parents upon their marriage in 1903. George was Angilican and Annie was Catholic. My Grandfather didn't met up with any of his cousins until after he left the orphange. His oldest sister died in 1933 of TB and his other sister died from a heart attack in the 1970. Also the Peter Fetherham, or use the spelling of your choice, was a son of Sylvanius and Christina (Fetherham) and he was born in 1848. Also George had a brother names Peter Fethrham. He was born in 1876. I hope this helps you in your search. Sarah Gunaseelan Fredericton, New Brunswick
On the Miramichi the location by the pulpmill was called Bridgetown; probably a nickname. This could be the location. There are Bridgetowns in Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. You can see the location of each at this site: <http://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/search/search_e.php> If you still can't pinpoint it on a map, click "Info", then "Radius", and you can get a list of other towns within a selected radius. I would like to contact Richard Olsen who has the Chatham site. I think he used to have a message board but I can't find it and his e-mail address doesn't work. This is about NB genealogy because I want to ask him about marriages that used to be on his first site. Thanks.
