Was afraid it had been too long for you to get my message. I am related to Ivan and Beverly Corey (Campobello). They are my in-laws and Aunt Mina and I have had the opportunity to visit a couple of times that she has been 'up this way'. I have not met Mel's daughter, but about 10 yrs ago, I met Uncle Charlie and his son. I did go to the Calais Library this weekend, however they closed on me before I could "wade" my way through the 1860 census. (I know this is going to sound terribly niave but ... it is NOT in alphabetical order.. I expected hand written but..!) I plan on going back next week as this week would be a strain with my children's schedule, you know basketball practice, reading club, boy scouts, etc. So next week is winteer break and I'll be able to spend major chunks of time deciphering. Additionally, I have located a "cemetary web site" and have put in a request for the volunteer to look around for "OUR" L.H. Daggett. Ivan (who is called Grandpa around here because my son carries his first name) told me last night that he hasn't heard anything about L.H. being buried on Deer Island. But, you said in your initial query that L.H. had a sister named Rebecca. Perhaps her middle initial was "N." And she could have married that other L.H. (for I am convinced that there were two in Washington County). Because Rebecca Marie was Ivans g-g-grandmother. But of course, the marriage date recorded in the Eastport Sentinel is the same date attributed to the R.N. to the other L.H. Who do you show as L.H.'s parents, as we don't have any concret info here. That might help me, I don't know.. Thanks for the offer of the pics, however, I have copies of one of him in uniform, one not, and one of Rebecca Marie. As you can tell, I'm quite excited with this challenge andI will keep you posted. If you want, you can email me at scorey@gwi.net. Sorry I can't come up with anything concrete right now. When I showed Ivan (gpa) you message, he knew that you were his cousin's daughter. So hopefully, you will feel good about that. Be patient. Susan P.S. I would offer to send you copies of what I have for pics, but we just got this contraption for Christmans, so it's pretty 'bare bones'. However, I could mail them to you if you want.
