    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Daggett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wNC.2ACE/775.2 Message Board Post: I, too, am looking for information that is very similar to what you are looking for. Thomas Daggett is supposed to be my son's g-g-g-grandfather. Which my father-in-law said he remembers meeting. I have the same info you do about being - born in New Brunswick 1843, - a farmer in Wesley, Me when he - joined Union Army Aug 17 1861, mustered in 22Sep61 - private Co. H, 9th Infantry for 3 yrs - promoted to corporal - reenlisted in Veterans Volunteers on 1Jan1864 - honorably discharged 13Jul1865 - physical description : 18, single, blue eyes, sandy blond hair, stood 5ft 11 1/2 in The above info was provided to me by Maine St Archives card index on Maine Civil War regiments. (I could supply you the email address if you would like) Family info has him marrying Rebecca Marie Daggett (not sister) 5 Dec1866. Thomas Daggett (Supposed to have been born in Robbinston, Me) resulted. L.H. Daggett supposedly died of wounds around 1870. There is a road marker for 9th Infantry at the junction where Rte 9 and 192 (ME) intersect, which has his name listed. I, too, have been perplexed by additional info I've seen on various web pages about this "other"L.H. Daggett born 8 years earlier, yet married R.M.D. also. Had planned on going to Calais Library this weekend and see what I could dig up out of old micro-fiche. I am so glad you posted! (My son is doing a report in school and so I've been assisting dredgeing things up...) If you have any other info, please send . I will keep you updated if you want. R/SCorey
