Earle is my father; and I, too, have been on the trail of the Pendleton story for some years. My folklore says he hailed from the USA; Penn., perhaps. Grandmother, Eugenia Gray "SNOW",Pendleton/Hardy may have hailed from St Andrews area; but Deer Island, though; I think. The "Pendleton" connection reportedly cut she and the children off after the death of Mr. T P; her first husband. She singlehandedly supported the children as a siverware rep until she married Mr John Forman Hardy years later, who I know as granfather. Bessie and Boyd were quite elder to my father. Boyd committed suicide as a young man. My father deduced from an old letter written by his mother that Mr. P was also his father. I've been unable to find any supporting documentation. Pendleton's Island has ben mentioned to me before, so maybe there is a connection. It's only curiousity with me. Mr. Forman Hardy was a saint and my only earthly hero. I trace my ancestry back to Africa from where all humanity hailed. The 1800's is by comparison a very miniscule spot on the'microposym'......... Nice reading your info for Karin, my niece. Would sure like to be kept in mind if any bits emerge. Thanks, David
