Earliest known ancestor was Henry or Harry Waycott immigrated to Calais, Washington Co., Maine in 1898 according to 1900 census records. Henry's wife's name listed as Amanda. I believe that her maiden name was Cummings. Listed in their household at that time were children Leonard, Nellie, Harold, Ethel M., Chester, Fannie, Manford R., Edna, and Goldie. Also listed were Almead, believed to have been the wife of Leonard, (maiden name could have been Whitlock) and their child, Mabel. Several boarders by the last name of Stewart, believed to have been Almead's children from a previous marriage, lived in the household as well. their names were Wesley, Edna, Carl V. and Percy. I have found several clues that the family lived in and around the Calais area and wonder if there is any connection to Richard and William Waycotte who immigrated from Devon, England? I have many clues from various sources. Just need some help putting it all together! Any and all information more than welcome!
