Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wNC.2ACE/1093.1 Message Board Post: While I have not researched the family in detail, I would strongly suspect they are related to the families living in St. David Parish early in the 19th century. I note from the 1823 tax assessment list: David Keezer 1823 Tax List for St. David David Keezer Jr. 1823 Tax List for St. David William Keezer 1823 Tax List for St. David There were quite a number of families where a second generation moved from St. David Parish either to Cooper, Alexander or Princeton Townships. For example, Brown family. It seems to me I have somewhere stuck away some other records. Certainly David Keezer in 1821 applied for ownership of some of the lands in the former 'Admiralty Mast and Spar Reserve' segment of St. David Parish. If you like, I will explore further. 1. Re: Marriage Records
    2. Craig Walsh
    3. Hi Julia, Beginning in 1812, all marriages in New Brunswick (with some exceptions for Quakers) had to be registered with the counties. The person who performed the marriage, whether he was a minister or a justice of the peace, was required to fill out a marriage certificate and send it to the county clerk of the peace. The clerk, in turn, was required to transcribe the certificate into a bound marriage register for the county. As Marilyn has pointed out, PANB has a Charlotte County Genealogical Guide available. Section 2, MARRIAGE RECORDS (RS148), on page 4, lists the above marriage certificates and registers. (They start before 1812 because of earlier laws.) Any marriages performed by Elias Wright should be interspersed among those records, provided he followed the law and registered them properly.
