Hi All: I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and got "everything you wanted"... in my case I did... I got to spend Christmas with my family in New Brunswick (no, not on Campobello) for the first time in 9 years:) It was a last minute decision to go and luckily the weather was perfect for the 16 hour drive:) I've completed the update for this month which includes: 4 New Obituaries (Anthony, Chute, Newman, Fletcher) Misc. Vital Records Page Updated 3 Unnamed Photo's added to the "Who is this Person" section on the Photo and Images Page. 4 Other new photo's under Photo and Images Page 1880-1884 St. Anne's Baptisms on Churches and Cemeteries Page (Scanned document ... surnames not picked up by search engine.) The main index page is located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nbcampob/. I am starting a new shift at work this week. I will now be working 5 days a week instead of 4. This means I will no longer have 2 fulls days a month (what I average) to work on the site. As a result future updates will "probably" be smaller that what they have been. As always if you have any broken links, please let me know!! Happy New Year! Sparkes, from Newfoundland bet approx. 1889- 1909. Marriage could have been at GM, St.John, Beaver Harbour, or even possibly,Deer Island, as the groom had brothers/ half brothers or relatives in all those areas. The couple went to California as evangelists sometime after their marriage but before 1912. thank you for any help.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wNC.2ACE/1069.1 Message Board Post: She must have been a Daughter of Archibald and Jane Johnston. In 1851 Census she is listed as age 29 b. in NS That calculates to her birth occurring in 1822.At this point she has 6 children ages 2 to 10. She is in the next house to to my Smith relation Eunice but she is the wife of George Urquart's brother Chisholm Urquart. Her sister was Harriett Johnston, who married my Great Great grandfather, Benjamin H, Morse. Harriett died about 1850-1853 in Milbridge, Washington Co, ME but not before her producing my great grandfather Henry Owen Morse. This is a difficult family to study. The name jumps between Johnson and Johnston and there are as thick as Smiths. Archibald and his wife Jane are listed in the 1821 census of GMI as having 4 boys and 3 girls all under 16.

Surnames: Pratt, Wright, Bassett, Stockman, Sparks Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wNC.2ACE/1071 Message Board Post: I am a g.g.g.grandson of James Pratt and Ann Unknown (Wright?) who probably married in about 1785 in Beaver Harbor. Among their children was Elias Wright Pratt, b. abt 1805, who married Adeline Bassett in 1824 in St. George, NB. They in turn named a son Elias Wright Pratt, Jr. Elias Jr. married Clarissa Sparks in 1854 before moving to Anoka, Minnesota. During the Civil War, Elias Jr. saw extensive action on the frontier and in the south. One of Elias Jr. and Clarissa's sons was David Pratt, my grandfather. David and my mother, Helen Pratt Shotwell, were both born in Anoka. Our family has long assumed that James Pratt and his wife, Ann Unknown (Wright?), named their son, Elias Wright Pratt, after Ann's father or brother but we have never been able to make a connection. Any information or suggestions would be most appreciated. John Shotwell Whidbey Island, WA

HI! My harddrive was reformatted today and "somehow" my email was NOT backed up! ANYTHING that has been sent to me for the Campobello site since September is gone! Including photo's, obituaries, information, queries etc.... IF you have sent me ANYTHING in the past and it is not yet on the site can you please resend me the information now. As a result of this setback, chances are the January update for the site will be very small. Will let you know as it gets closer to the 15th. Thanks for your help!! http://www.nbnews.com/telegraphjournal/index.htm There is another picture of the St. Marks Anglican Church, St. George at this site. Unfortunately you have to be a member to read the entire article. A quote from Rev. Langmaid in the article, who held a special service Tuesday at the temporary home of the church, the St. George United Baptist Church, says; 'It's like a death. That's what the service was, a time to recognize that it's really about God and there's nothing on this Earth that we own that we'll be able to keep forever.' The only things salvaged were a few file cabinets that may contain some records, but most of the papers were burned, and the weather vane, which will someday be perched atop the new church. I have updated the Churches and Cemeteries page with pictures of the remains of St. Mark's Anglican Church in St. George, NB. First built in 1821, rebuilt in 1909 and a new addition added in 1999/2000. Totally destroyed, what a tragedy.
