Hello This is second of two messages. I am starting research on my grandfather's family. They lived in Winnipeg for a time, roughly 1911 to 1930. I don't have much, but hopefully someone will recognize the name. Here's what I know : Grandfather's name : Jean Damhaut. Born in Belgium in 1901, family moved to St. Boniface in 1911-1912. He died in Toronto in 1991. He married Maude Webster. They lived in Winnipeg until 1942 or 44 when they moved to Toronto. His father's name : Julien Damhaut His mother's name : Victoire Pirotton Siblings that lived in Winnipeg for a time: Marie (married a Frank Bourne around 1924), and Hortense (married a Fred Harris around 1926) He once told me that his uncle Nicholas Pirotton was a well known person in Winnipeg in the early part of the century. I remembering him once telling me that he was a stonemason and designed the citadel in Winnipeg. This is the start of my research, so any information anyone has would be appreciated. Thank you, John Potter Jps2000@netcom.ca
