Hello Coralynn, I read, with great interest, your posting regarding John Bateman. My husband's grandmother was Charlotte Elizabeth Bateman, b. July 18, 1879. Her father was John James Bateman, b. 11-02-1856 in St. Elbans, Herfordshire, England, d. 11-13-1891 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Charlotte had a brother named James Bateman, Jr., b. 7-16-1875 in Boston, Ma. and d. as a child 5-03-1877. Our Charlotte Elizabeth married Albert Ernest Turvey and migrated into Edmondton, Alberta sometime around 1920-30..both Albert and Charlotte are buried in Edmondton. Just wondering if there is any connection here. If so let me know and I'll dig up the rest of the family history on the Bateman side and let you know.
