Rick On page 307 of the Rural Municipality of Franklin, the entire family history of John Alexander McVicar is laid out. There is no mention of a Sarah Ann McVicar though. John Alexander McVicar married Elizabeth Timlick, daughter of Henry and Ellen Timlick, on March 6, 1907. They had four children: Donald, Jean, John Jr. and Marjorie. The article makes reference to John Jr. as though he is the second John McVicar rather than the third (which might have suggested that John Alexander had a father named John as well and therefore making it possible for John Alexander to be a sibling of Sarah Ann). No references are made to Hackney in the book that I could find. At least we are in the same neck of the woods in Southern Manitoba! Hope this helps a bit.
