Hello, I am new to this list so I thought I would say hello and post a question. I am researching ECCLES in England and Canada (from circa 1888 to present day). I was brought up in BC although I was born in England. My Father came from Calgary and met & married my Mother in England during WWII. My Grandfather William Pawson ECCLES and G Grandfather William ECCLES (and wife Sarah nee MATTHEWS) went to Canada in 1888. My Grandfather died in Calgary in 1931. His obituary states that his Father was still alive and living in Manitoba. My questions are: Where can I look for my G Grandfather's obituary (I don't have any idea when he died)? Where can I look to find out exactly where they landed in Canada? Would there exist some naturalization papers or citizenship papers in a government archive somewhere and how can I access these records? Unfortunately, both my Father and Mother are deceased and cannot help! Also, I have no contact with any of my Father's relations as my parents split up almost 40 years ago.
