    1. [MBWINNIPEG-L] West Brenda School
    2. Barb Brent
    3. Sometime between 1885 and her death in 1898, Flora (McLeod) MORRISON became the first teacher at West Brendal School in southern Manitoba. Flora was my great-grandmother. In 1885 she was living in Corunna, Ontario with her two young sons, Donald Greenfield Morrison and Norman Roderick Morrison, one young daughter, Margaret Isabel, and was expecting a fourth. In October 1885 the fourth child, a daughter Annie Harriet Christina (my grandmother) was born. Just prior to Annie's birth my great-grandfather, James Morrison, was "lost at sea" in the Great Lakes. It is thought that he was a sea captain. After Annie was born, Flora and the four children moved to homestead in southern Manitoba. Of the four children listed above, the only one the family lost track of was Donald Greenfield MORRISON. Perhaps someone out there has some info on him. I'm hoping that someone on this list has some knowledge of either West Brenda School, or the teacher, Flora Morrison, or both. TIA, Barb in Kelowna, B.C.
