He came to York Factory Manitoba in 1846 to work for the Hudson's Bay Company. In 1853 he was posted to Norway House Manitoba. He married Marion Munro in 1858 and they moved to Kildonan Manitoba in 1861. Note: In some documents Donald McIvor's name is spelled McIvER. They had 11 children--women's married names in brackets: Magaret (Ross) b. 1859 d. 1955 Annie (unmarried) b. 1860 d. 1941 Angus b. 1861 d. ? George b. 1863 d. 1893 Christina (unmarried) b. 1865 d. 1895 Alexander b. 1867 d. 1940 Daniel b. 1869 d. 1931 Robert b. 1871 d. 1949 James b. 1873 d. 1895 Norman b. 1875 d. 1931 Isabel (Taylor) b. 1877 d. 1968 I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is descended from any of these Kildonan McIvors.
