He was born in 1867, in Wybunbury, Cheshire, England. His parents are William and Elizabeth(?Scott) Jackson. James married Lillian Farrar in about 1887. This couple had 6 daughters: Lillian Eva, Ethel, Beatrice Mabel, Rose Annie, Elsie Katherine, and Constance Mary. The family immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in about 1902. James was hired as stonemason to build an Anglican Church in the Winnipeg (St. James ?)area. Lillian died within weeks of arrival. James was unable to work and look after his daughters. A neighbour, Dr. Howden and his wife took the two older girls, one being my grandmother Lillian Eva. The other four girls were put in an orphanage. At some point James remarried and had a new family. Some of the family could have lived in Transcona. My grandmother never forgave her father for remarrying, and cut off all contact with him. One of my grandmother's sisters, Ethel, married a G. Halpenny, and lived her life out in W! innipeg. I would like to know what happened to him, and who was his second wife, children, and where he is buried. I would be interested in any information about this family.
