    3. Hi George, Your wrote about your gg grandfather William Wellwood b. 1816. First off, the Early Canadiana online is a fabulous site - thanks for passing along the URL. I've used it a lot too. If you go to http://www.kenora.net/manitoba/ there is a search button at the bottom of the page. Using it, I found two references to Wellwood. a) Dr. John S. Wellwood who was a postmaster in Eden (about 25-30 miles from Minnedosa) from 1909-11. b) there is a town called Wellwood in Manitoba - again about 20 miles from Minnedosa. I wonder why it is named thus. If you query the Boissevain library which is also found on the above URL, they may be able to tell you. No "Wellwood's" show up in the Minnedosa 1891 census. Also, in the volunteer lookups on the Manitoba Mid-West Page (URL above), there is someone who has the Minnnedosa Cemetery records. If you discover your Wellwoods come from this area, do get back to me. I was born in Minnedosa and would be glad to tell you a little about the town. Bette in Victoria BC where the daffodils are about ready to burst!
