Hi all, I keep reading, with great interest, about the railroad being built in Winnipeg and would like to know what years this took place? Can anyone give me any ideas on how to find out if our John Herbert Gillson, b. 1873 in Collingwood, Ontario, migrated into Winnipeg about 1899-1900,might have been on one of the crews for the railroad? He disappeared around 1908 and we cannot find any trace of him. I keep reading about all the railroad accidents and men being killed..just makes me wonder if maybe this might be what happened to our John. Thanks to all who can give me info on the dates, which railroads were being built and possibly a way to locate records. Any info. Thanks! Mary T.
