Hi All... I've been trying to locate some record of the marriage in Nov 1896 of my great-grandparents, Thomas BRADSHAW and Ellen Elizabeth (Nellie) GORING for a long time now. Other records state they were married at Hillview Manitoba. Years ago I wrote to the archives & registrar of Manitoba about this & was told there was no known town or city named "Hillview." I've recently found out it is (or was) an unicorporated municipal area close to the Saskatchewan border near Virden. My question is where do I go from here? Anyone have any ideas about where they might have been married in this area? I don't think they were married in a church. Both were protestants. Perhaps a local justice of the peace or something like that?
