    1. [MBWINNIPEG-L] William LANG
    2. I am new to this list, and would like to post some information in the hope that someone can help me locate some information on William Lang, my husband's grandfather. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland on March 23, 1879 to Robert Lang a farmer, and Janet Duffy. He married Jeannie Dodds (b. 1877) on 8-29-1898 at Denniston, Glasgow. I do not know when they emigrated from Scotland to Winnipeg. They had 2 sons, Robert and William, and 4 daughters, Susan Wyper Lang, Jean Trick, ( Charles) Janet Eisenberg ( Al) and Margaret "Peggy" Brantigan (William). Jeannie died in 1919, and he married a woman named Mary, who died in 1960. There were 2 stepdaughters, Dorothy Anderson and Carrie Cowlishaw. The Trick and Brantigan families remained in Canada, and his other children settled in the United States. He was a member of the Fort Garry Masonic Lodge and the Khartum Temple of the Shrine. He died at the General Centre on March 11, 1975 at the age of 95, and was buried in Brookside Cemetery. Funeral home was Thomson Funeral Chapels, Broadway at Furby, the Rev. Dr. W. W. Conly officiating. I have his obitiuary, but the name of the newspaper is not shown. There is a photograph of him in his dress uniform. I understand he wore the Morgan tartan. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. I need to know where to write so I can trace the family backwards to Scotland, and would also like to know if there are any members of the Trick or Brantigan families in the area. I would also like to obtain a copy of his death certificate, and that of his wives, if possible. Thank you. Edna Wakeham
