Was educated at Yorkshire Schools. Came to the Reston district in 1892, worked at farming; in 1897 homesteaded and purchased land; now farms three quarter-sections; in pre-war days was a member of the 12th Manitoba Dragoons, Canadian Militia; afterwards Captain, Border Horse, joined the C.E.F. and reverted; Lieutenant of 200th Battalion, 10th Reserve, England; France, 107th Battalion, October, 1917; Passchendaele, Arras, Amiens, Cambrai, Canal du Nord, Valenciennes, Mons; with German army of occupation. President, Reston Agricultural Society. President, Sinclair Local, U.F.M. Member, Masonic Fraternity. Anglican. Progressive. On the reserve of the Canadian Militia with the rank of captain. Address, Sinclair, Man. McNeill: Lachlan, Commissioner of the Manitoba Farm Lands Association, Provincial Government of Manitoba. Son of John and Agnes (Thompson) McNeill. Born in Bruce County, Ont., February 11, 1869. Married Miss R.L. Lemox, June 10, 1908. Was educated at the public schools of Ontario. Farmed in Ontario. Came to Manitoba, 1901.; engaged with Canadian Pacific Railways Land's Department; in 1906 entered the firm of Osler, Hammond & Nanton (Mortgage Dept.); remained until 1917 when he was offered and accepted the position he now holds. Member, Elmhurst Golf Club, I.O.O.F. Residence, 606 Gertrude Avenue, Winnipeg. Hope this helps.
