Went to Japan in 1883; engaged in educational work under the Imperial Government as Instructor in English at Higher Collegiate, Kumamoto. Appointed under Canadian Methodist Mission Board to Theological College, Tokyo, 1892. Dean of Theology, 1892. Secretary of Conference. Chairman, Japan Mission Council, 1894-1896. Retired to Canada in 1896. Was pastor of the following charges in the Methodist Church in Canada; Sharbot Lake, Brock St. (Kingston); Bathurst St. (Toronto); Eastern Church, (Ottawa); Regina, Sask., 1908; Moose Jaw; Winnipeg, (Grace); Winnipeg (Maryland). Has held following offices: Trustee of Queen's University, Councillor of Toronto Alumni Association. D.D.., Queen's University, 1905. Address, 572 Maryland St., Winnipeg.
