Hi - this is my first posting to this list. I've been sitting back and reading all the wonderful information about my birth place and the people who made it what it is today through their courage and strength. What a wonderful heritage we have! My family, Fred and Lucy Anne Curwain came to Winnipeg from Broadview, Saskatchewan, sometime after 1916. My mom, Muriel Kathleen, was born in Broadview, but her younger brother, Harold, was born in Winnipeg. My grandfather owned a jewelry & watch repair across from Eatons and that store was there for many years - my uncles Lewis and David took over the store when he died around 1951. I believe it closed some time in the late 50's. So after all that, are there any postings of Curwains on your list? I'm looking forward to your reply.
