Surnames: Hansen from Denmark Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mNC.2ACE/1158.2 Message Board Post: Hello, I'm searching for our grandfathers brother named Christian Hansen.I don't know much but they came from Denmark to Liverpool to New York (our grandfather "Sofus Hansen") in 1910. I'm told that his brother Christian is in Sascatchawan (excuse the spelling). I've also heard their are other brothers and I'm not sure about their surname.I was told the Denmark gave a special day to all who lived there to change their namesif they wanted to and some of the siblings to Sofus Hansen did choose to change their names and I don't know what they changed it to.
