"On Tuesday, May 3, 1977 at the Health Sciences Center, Wilfred, aged 75 years, beloved husband of Gladys (Jamie) Cockshott of 412 Lamont Blvd.. Mr. Cockshott was born in Bristol, England on May 5, 1902 and emirgated to Canada with his parents at an early age. He became involved in the automotive trades while in his teens and founded Garry Radiators Limited at the age of twenty, and subsequently Welders Supplies Ltd., in 1946. Mr. Cockshott was a member of Prince Rupert Lodge No. 1 A.F. and A.M., the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Kartum Temple of the Shrine, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, National Welding Supply Association, Automotive Trades Association and St. George's Anglican Church. Surviving besides his wife, Jamie, are two sons, Harry and daughter - in - law Florence, Arthur and daughter - in - law Joan; a sister, Edith, and six grandchildren, all of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elsie in 1955. Funeral service will be held in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, Broadway at Furby, Friday, May 6 at 2:15 p.m., terminating at the chapels. The Rev. Dr. Arthur N. Thompson will officiate. Private interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Honorary bearers will be Bret Hall, W. F. Souch, Bill Webb, Harold Turner Sr., Dr. Cyril Stevens, Thomas Dodds, W. Dolly Gray and, Grat Stanley Hanson. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart Foundation, 352 Donald St..
